Ommo brings a lot of wealth and expertise to the software development industry; She is a qualified IT Practitioner, Technology Entrepreneur and SEO Expert with a career in software development that spans approximately 20 years and covers Program Management, Business Analysis, System Design, Application Testing, Application Support, SEO, Change Management, Release Management and Vendor Management. She a Global Women Entrepreneurs Initiative - GWEI2015 Fellow of The Ivan Allen College, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA, a Digital Auditor certified by the International Trade Centre (ITC) which is an agency of the United Nations and World Trade Organisation and is ISO9001 qualified.
Ommo founded iBez Consulting Ltd in Sittingbourne, England in July 2008 to provide software development and training services to SMEs and entrepreneurs. iBez began full time operations in Lagos, Nigeria in January 2013. Ommo serves as the principal enabler for the achievement of iBez’s strategic objectives. Ommo came up with the ideas for and designed the online platforms Handy-Jacks and Lets-Share to solve issues she had experienced in Nigeria just doing everyday life. She also sits on the Boards of West Africa Exhibitions and Conferences Ltd (an Events Management Company) and WomenNCareer (an NGO supporting women and girls as they progress upwards in their careers).
Ommo has worked for various local and international organisations and some of her previous roles include Chief Operating Officer at with an International Trade firm in Lagos, Nigeria, Head of Projects Delivery & Support at Soft Solutions Ltd (Enterpriseware), Lagos, Nigeria, Project Manager leading the software development team in developing banking applications at Kaupthing, Singer & Friedlander, London, UK (an Icelandic Investment Bank), Team Leader, E-Trading, leading the web and support teams responsible for online mortgage origination, products development and application support services at the Mortgage Capital Division of the Investment Bank Lehman Brothers, London, UK and Application Support Consultant at Real Asset Management, Orpington, UK (a software house).
An Urhobo/Ijaw native from Delta State, Ommo attended Delta Steel Company (DSC) Technical High School, Ovwian-Aladja, Delta State before proceeding to the UK for further education. She is an Alumna of London Guildhall University UK with a BA (Hons) in Business Admin and Brunel University UK with a MSc in Information Systems. Ommo has been a Panellist and Speaker at various conferences and events. She is a member of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), part of the W-TEC Mentorship team for girls, and a mentor at Founder Institute Lagos.
Ommo was presented with an Award of Excellence in recognition of performance towards youth development by the Global Youth Forum, Benin City, Edo State in March 2020, honoured with a merit Award for ICT/Technology by the Izon Ladies Association in January 2020, nominated for the 2019 ELOY Award for ICT/Technology that recognises women that have created a platform offering knowledge, service, product or solution to build sustainable businesses, by the Institute of Attitudinal Change Managers for its Role Model Award known as Honorary Fellow in August 2019, listed by Lionesses of Africa in 2018 as one of 21 female Technology / Digital gamechangers on the African Continent, by Naij.com in 2017 as one of 21 most inspiring women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, by the Lionesses of Africa in 2016 as one of 41 Nigerian Female Entrepreneurs putting Nigeria on the global map and by Ynaija as the 48th most innovative person in Technology in Nigeria – Class of 2015.
